Special Events in Yosemite

Spring Fest
At the end of winter, Yosemite celebrates the change of seasons with Spring Fest, a variety of activities, geared especially to families. Contests include an obstacle course, a Kid's Slalom Race, Ski and Snowboard competitions on Beaver Hill, and a Dual Slalom Race on Badger Hill. The highlight of the event is the World Cup Dummy Race where contestants send a decorated dummy down Red Fox Run, and can also participate in a costume contest.

Earth Day
Yosemite celebrates Earth Day, the ecologically-minded annual event with a focus protecting our natural resources. Visitors can enjoy a guided bike ride or walk through Yosemite's natural wonders, participate in park clean-up, sample food treats created from sustainable and organic ingredients and shop vendors that offer products geared to protecting the environment. Other events include historical lectures, photography lessons and Q&A sessions with the park rangers that focuses on conservation efforts and maintaining Yosemite's natural splendor for generations to come.

Vintners' Holidays
In the fall, Yosemite hosts Vintners' Holidays, a series of wine tastings, seminars, and private receptions with winemakers to celebrate a variety of vintages. Guests have the opportunity to expand their wine knowledge, better understand the creation of fine wine, and participate in the gala Vintners' dinner finale. Accommodations are available at the Ahwahnee Hotel or the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, which include complimentary shuttles to the Vintners events.

Ahwahnee Hotel
Every December, the historic and luxurious Ahwahnee Hotel becomes a 17th century English manor to host the Bracebridge Dinner. Built in 1925, the Ahwahnee is surrounded by the beautiful Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, and Glacier Point. The Bracebridge Dinner festivities include carols, Renaissance traditions, and over 100 performers as minstrels, servants, and aristocrats. The guests then enjoy an elaborate seven-course meal for a feast than can include roasted squash soup, endive salad, roasted beef tenderloin, plum pudding, and other delicious dishes created for the annual event by the world-class staff.

Nordic Holiday Race
Each winter, cross-country skiers converge on Badger Pass to participate in a two day racing event called the Nordic Holiday Race. The competitions include an 18K, a downhill telemark and several 38K events geared to all levels of skill. The annual event also includes a costume contest, raffle, and an awards ceremony for a chance to meet other fans of cross-country skiing.
